Making life-cycle costs transparent

New IFMA/GEFMA Standard 220-1 and -2 on life-cycle costs in facility management
Intep is currently developing the new GEFMA 220-1 and -2 Standard for life-cycle costs in facility management in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Andrea Pelzeter (Berlin School of Economics and Law). The revision of the standard is also coordinated with the Swiss IFMA institute. A new standard will be introduced by mid-2010 defining basic financial methods and a general framework for the calculation of life-cycle costs. Section 2 illustrates the calculation of a concrete example with an Excel tool which will be available to future users. For additional information, please contact Uta Käding or René Sigg.

Life-cycle costing in the Zurich building department
Intep has developed a tool for the calculation of life-cycle costs in the project definition, feasibility, competition and preliminary project/project stages. It allows for the determination of life-cycle costs for the following categories: administrative buildings, residential buildings, schools and nursing/retirement homes. The methodology and results are summarized in the brochure LUKRETIA – life-cycle costs / resources / mechanization. For additional information please visit the official homepage of the City of Zurich.

A life-cycle cost tool for Siemens Real Estate
Within the Green Building Initiative Intep has developed a tool for the definition of strategic components in building projects. It allows for the identification of the components with the highest life-cycle costs in the preliminary design phase and helps identify potentials for optimization. This helps to make sound decisions for sustainable buildings. For additional information, please contact Uta Käding or René Sigg.
