RheinEnergie Headquarters, Cologne: DGNB gold pre-certification
The new RheinEnergie building was DGNB gold pre-certified at this year’s Expo Real in Munich. The pre-certification was awarded as a recognition for the high standards set in the planning phase to comply with the demands of the building’s users.
By the end of 2014 the RheinEnergie Company will complete a building complex as a central office for 1,800 employees at the Cologne “Parkgürtel” location to ensure efficient working processes, attractive work places and future-oriented design. Energy efficiency and sustainability are key concepts for the RheinEnergie Company. The project combines all aspects of a green building: the administrative building is entirely ecological, meets economic criteria, and is optimized for processes and office work according to the latest findings in the field of ergonomics. Energy is supplied centrally from the city’s largest geothermal power station. This way, 90 % of the required heating and cooling energy can be met with renewable sources of energy.
Intep is providing consulting services in the fields of sustainability and facility management including project management for sustainability, ergonomics, and facility management.
